Kick Ass Evaluation

We watched the clip first and noted down all of the sounds we thought should be there, we re-watched it until we had an idea of all the sounds we needed. We thought about how we were going to make them so that when went to record the sounds we could easily get it done. There were some sounds that we couldn't make ourselves so we downloaded them from the internet. To lay out our planning we created a table so that we could clearly understand what sounds we needed and where they went on the clip.

We got most of the sounds the first day and the sounds that we didn't get we did the second day. If there was a sound that didn't turn out as good as we thought it would we either tried again or downloaded it from the internet. We found that adding two or more sounds together would make it better. We made sounds by hitting and impacting plastic and wood and by jumping on the floor, we used these sounds for when bodys hit the floor. We added a panning effect to the sound of the bullets passing across the screen so that the sounds moves from one speaker to another. We breathed heavily into the microphone in many different ways for a variety of sounds to give to the people on screen.

If I was to re-create this I would make sure that we got all the sounds we needed the first day because we needed props that we didn't have access to, to do this we would need the appropriate props and download less from the internet. To prevent this from happening next time we would make sure we have all the props that we need.

Our target audience is the people who watched KickAss which is teenagers. The final piece realistically represented the actions which is appropriate for the target audience.

I think that the final finished project is good. We covered every sound that we identified effectively. The project kept to the plan and was completed in time. I think that the end result is suitable for the audience, the sounds are in sync with the actions to a realistic effect and the panning that we put on the bullets increased their effectiveness.Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poIgtqeqlkk
